The round (8+)

ECCE / Claire Croizé (Belgium)
première
Sat 1 Mar and Sun 2 Mar
1 Mar
and
2 Mar

The round is a re-creation of Primitive (2014): a genuine tribute to youth and vital force by twelve children between 8 and 13 years old.

A tribute to youth, based on the vitality and pure energy of bodies in motion, in close relationship with each other and with their environment. It evokes a return to the source (the breath, the rhythm of the bodies), and plays on the ambivalence of a positive yet destructive energy.

The audience gathers around the performers and has a privileged view of the dancing bodies.
The round not only revolves around the physical and abstract dimension of the dance itself, but also around the culture, personality and history of the young performers.

About the company

ECCE stands for Etienne and Claire, Claire and Etienne. Claire Croizé and Etienne Guilloteau met at P.A.R.T.S. and have worked together closely ever since. Claire worked mostly for adult audiences and was often inspired by (classical) music. With her dance shows on Mahler, she won the Prix Jardin d’Europe. Claire contributed to Prima dell’atto, a 6+ dance show by Etienne Guilloteau for Krokusfestival.
