Atemporal is a lively performance in which choreographer Yentl de Werdt enters into a dialogue with musician Matchume Zango from Mozambique.

Chopi music is a living heritage from Mozambique. The complex rhythms, chants and instrumentation form a unique soundscape that has been passed down for generations.

But Atemporal is so much more than an ode to Chopi music; it is first and foremost a bridge between artists, cultures and spectators. A bridge that connects us to our roots and to each other.

With the HETLAB@KROKUS-project, the artistic workplace HET LAB gives emerging makers the opportunity to present their creation. This work-in-progress can and will then be further developed into a touring performance.

About the company

AYU aims to connect people through dance. The non-profit organization AYU is fascinated by the impact of body language and movement. Moving together means changing something together. The focus is on participation projects and performances, next to workshops.
