Mirkids (5+)

BELGIAN PREMIERE 
 
Come on stage. There is a large, strange cylinder. Lie down quietly next to it. Look up. There is a huge mirror hanging from the ceiling through which we can see dancers in the cylinder.  
 
Then a fascinating spectacle begins: the dancers form incredible figures like the colorful patterns of a living kaleidoscope: symmetrical, flowing, mysterious and always in motion. It seems as if they are floating on the ceiling, as if they are conjuring up images in the air. 
 
Mirkids is a visually stunning dance work, a fascinating, hypnotic image factory in which young and old wonder and get lost. 
 
Mirkids appeals to everyone's imagination to give the shapes - that the eight dancers continuously create and disappear before our eyes - their own meaning in our imagination.

Aftertalk

Immediately after the 4.30pm show we invite you to an aftertalk (in English) with choreographer/director Jasmine Morand. Please be welcome in room nr 4.

About the company

Born in 1977 in Zurich, Jasmine Morand completed her classical training in Geneva and at the Princess Grace Academy in Monaco, after winning first prize at the Swiss National Ballet Competition in Solothurn, the Modern Dance Competition in Nyon and the Migros Cultural Percentage study prize. She began her career as a dancer at the National Ballet of Nancy and Lorraine, before joining the Zurich Opera and the National Ballet of Slovenia. In 2000, she began training in contemporary dance at Codarts University for the Arts in Rotterdam, where she began to develop her choreographic writing. Back in Switzerland, she founded the company Prototype Status.
