Re-setting Little red riding hood, created in 2011 and after 250 shows, Sylvain Huc aims to (re)discover the shivers of this ancestral tale.

The friendly Little Red Riding Hood, her pancake and jar of butter, the grandmother, the hungry wolf, the brave woodcutter... Think you know the story? Well, none of that in this vicious performance.

So, don't expect a sweet fairytale from Sylvain Huc. After all, he unravels the story to its deepest core. Namely: that of childhood as a place of fantasy and freedom on the one hand, and of agreements, rules and laws on the other. Growing up between obedience and revolt.

Be ready for a Little Red Riding Hood that is different from usual, a Little Red Riding Hood that explores emotions in a unique way using white neon light, the buzz and crackle of vinyl, and burlesque dance.

For Sylvain Huc, this is a story of fear and play, but above all of courage and fun.
Just like Wonderland (Krokus 2022), Little Red Riding Hood is also fascinating, intriguing and extremely original and absolutely recommended for small and not-so-small daredevils!

About the company

After graduating in History and Art History, Huc’s encounter with contemporary dance was sudden. He joined the CDC Toulouse training programme in 2003. After a career as a performer, he took over as director of the Divergences company in 2014. His first production, Le Petit Chaperon Rouge (Little Red Riding Hood), aimed at a young audience, was performed 250 times in France and in Europe. It laid the foundations of a peculiar choreographic approach focusing on the body, its states, its consistency as it closely interacts with sound and light.  Rotkäppchen, Kapput and then Boys don’t cry followed.
