Vers / toonmoment writer’s room (6+)
LUCA School of Arts and Krokusfestival join forces! We will present a number of master's theses and students will attend a workshop with Takeski Matsumoto, a guest at the festival.
But there is more: theatre for young audiences also needs new, witty and relevant texts for today's and especially tomorrow's children and young people. Texts that they recognise themselves in, that they experience as contemporary, texts that appeal to their worlds.
But how do you write a text intended for a young audience in the audience? How do you excite young listeners and viewers without under- or overestimating them?
In a writers' room writing for young audiences, supervised by playwright Anna Carlier, master students at LUCA School of Arts wrote new theatre texts for young audiences in the audience.
With these fresh texts, they come to Krokusfestival for a staged (i.e.: theatrical) reading of this new material. Texts in the making for the first time on stage, in front of growing audiences. Curious yet?
LUCA School of Arts and Krokusfestival are joining forces! This way, KROKUS wants to support students who are interested in making theatre for young audiences.
At different moments within the festival, you will be able to see the theatre students at work. We will organise a theatrical reading of texts written by the students, present a number of master's theses and the students will attend a workshop with Takeski Matsumoto, international creator at the festival.
